SBF will not oppose US extradition demands on Monday, Reuters sources said
On 17 December 2022, Reuters , reported: Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) said on Saturday that it will be more open to extradition to the United States. The former FTX CEO was scheduled to remain at Fox Hill until February 8, 2023 after Judge Ferguson-Pratt denied SBF’s request for bail.
News about the SBF follows a story that the former FTX exec was living in his Bay dormitory in Fox Hill with five of his other inmates. Doan Cleare, acting commissioner of The Bahamas Corrections, said SBF has received medication and he is “fine.” According to numeroushuman rights reports,,Fox Hill’s reputation for being clean and orderly was reported to be rather poor.
Reuters further detailed that the SBF “filed a new bail application with the Supreme Court of the Bahamas on Thursday,” according to another source familiar with the matter. SBF said he was arrested on December 12, 2022 and charged with numerous financial fraud and conspiracy charges by Southern District of New York (SDNY) prosecutor Damien Williams. SBF has also been sued by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and has also been indicted on fraud charges by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Bahamian Attorney General Ryan Pinder told the media after SBF’s arrest that the country was cooperating with the United States and that SBF would likely be extradited. and is said to haveattempted to get his son to eat vegan food. On the day the SBF parents attended their first hearing, there were reports that his SBF mother laughed out loud every time her son was called a “fugitive.” If SBF is extradited, he will likely go to prison in New York and will likely be held in PC (protective custody).
Meanwhile, other FTX executives have not been charged. First, the world is wondering where FTX co-founder Gary Wang and former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison are. Two days ago, it was discovered that FTX co-CEO Ryan Salame tipped off SBF just days before the company filed for bankruptcy protection. The unsealed indictment only names Sam Bankman-Fried and his nickname, his SBF, but known and unknown persons who deliberately devised a scheme to defraud the people. is also mentioned.
