Classic stamps bridge the traditional and digital worlds
The first edition of the CSA is a modern reinterpretation of the 1851 Merkur newspaper stamps. The original series appeared in four color values. Unfortunately, very few specimens of the Red Mercury remain today, making it one of the rarest stamps in Europe and the most valuable in Austria.

The new special stamp block, with a face value of €3.70, has been issued 150,000 times. Available at all post offices, under available at onlineshop.post.at

Crypto stamp art is just the start
This edition marks the beginning of the newly developed Crypto stamp art project. It forms a digital collector’s item with a physical counterpart, but with a focus on collecting digital pieces and collaborating with the greats of the NFT scene.
Austrian Post is betting on new interpretations and has already managed to attract other internationally renowned artists to implement future editions of Crypto stamp art.
In support of the upcoming launch event, Patricia Liebermann, Head of Philately at Austrian Post AG, said. ‘There is a generational shift happening in the collections. Younger people are using NFT to make digital collectibles truly valuable and unique. It is a great opportunity for us to bridge the gap between physical and digital collecting with Crypto stamp art that speaks to all generations.”
Daniel Lenikus, CEO of Tokapi, commented on the partnership with Austria Post.
“Blockchain is changing the world at an even faster pace than the Internet did, usually adding considerable complexity. We are trying to remove those barriers, and NFT should be an inclusive technology that everyone can use, not limited to a few people with extensive knowledge of blockchain. Tocapi provides the easiest way for collectors to purchase digital assets and thus help onboard a new wave of collectors.”
