Changpeng Zhao (CZ), CEO of Binance, tweeted that he met with Senegalese President Macky Sall and the central bank on July 6. However, CZ did not share details of the meeting, nor did he identify the central bank officials who attended the meeting.

Zhao’s tweet about the meeting in Senegal came just hours after Binance Africa shared a photo of CZ attending another meeting in Ivory Coast. The Office of the President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire also issued astatementsummarizing the discussion between President Alassane Ouattara and Zhao.
On the Causes of Financial Inclusion
Before sharing details and photos of his meeting with the two presidents, CZ in anothertweetexplained why the African continent, where millions of people are still financially excluded, is “primed for crypto adoption” I explained.
“Africa is primed for crypto adoption. 10-20% have banks. Financial access and inclusion is needed. Blockchain provides that with smartphones,” tweeted CZ.
CZ, who also met with leaders in El Salvador and Kazakhstan, claimed in another tweet that “we are working on adoption worldwide.”
“Do you really think people without bank accounts in Africa have access to smartphones and internet?” the user asked.
