Bitcoin Miners May Get Another Break This Week as Network’s Mining Difficulty Is Expected to Drop

Bitcoin miners can take another break this week as the network’s mining difficulty is estimated to decrease tomorrow.Every two weeks, the Bitcoin difficulty adjustment algorithm (DAA ) changes, and the last time the DAA was changed, the difficulty decreased by 4.33%. Currently at 235 exahashes per second (EH/s), the network is expected to see a 0.51% DAA decrease from today’s metric.

Bitcoin mining difficulty changes are expected to be lower this week

June 7, 2022, one day before the next DAA change, is expected to be lower at the start of the shift; the DAA changes every 2,016 blocks, or roughly every two weeks, and after a block height of 735,840, the difficulty is at a record high of 31.35 trillion.

Basically, if a block is mined earlier than expected, the DAA increases; if a block is mined later during the two-week period, the difficulty decreases.31.35 trillion all-time high (ATH) after the last DAA at block height 737,856 shift decreased by 4.33% and the current difficulty parameter decreased to 29.90 trillion.

As the difficulty drops, it becomes much easier to find bitcoin block rewards, and as the DAA metric increases, it becomes much harder for bitcoin miners to findBTCblock rewards. the DAA retarget is more than 160 blocks away and is expected to change tomorrow, June 8, 2022.

If the expected 0.51% drop materializes, the difficulty for the first two weeks after the DAA change will be $29.75 trillion. The bitcoin hash rate has been fast paced after reaching an ATH of 275 EH/s on May 2, but has not surpassed the lifetime record since then. In fact, when prices fell toward the end of May, hash rates temporarily fell below the 200 EH/s zone.

With the expected downward shift in DAA, 445 BTCblock rewards were mined into existence over the past three days. Foundry USA captured the most blocks in the past 3 days as they found 105 out of 445 BTCblock subsidy rewards.

Foundry accounted for 23.6% of the global hash rate and 49.70 EH/s in throughput Antpool captured 78 block rewards in 72 hours, making it the second largest in terms of hash rate in mining pool; Antpool uses 36.92 EH/s dedicated toblockchains; BTCdedicated to blockchains, which equates to 17.53% of the global hash rate.

There are 14 known pools that dedicate a hash rate to the chain; BTC 0.45% or 946.74 petahash per second (PH/s) of the chain hash rate is unknown or belongs to stealth miners. Profits are down significantly as the most powerful ASIC mining device, Bitmain’s Antminer S19 Pro+ Hyd. with 198 terahash per second (TH/s), earns an estimated $9.80 per day.

This figure includes paying $0.12 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and the current difficulty at $29.90 trillion Microbt Whatsminer M50S with 126 TH/s and an electricity bill of $0.12 per kWh earns an estimated $6.78 per dayprofit of BTCMany ASIC mining devices manufactured before 2021 are making less than $5 per day at the currentexchange rate of BTC.
