Fresh Gains Push Bitcoin Back Into the World’s Top 10 Most Valuable Assets

Bitcoin has lost over 16% of its value against the US dollar in the past 30 days, but the cryptocurrency remains the 10th largest asset by market valuation. With a market capitalization of $603 billion, bitcoin has surpassed the capitalization of Meta (formerly Facebook) and is slightly below the overall valuation of Berkshire Hathaway.

Despite losing more than 16% in one month, bitcoin remains the 10th most valuable asset in the world

Bitcoin (BTC), the leading crypto asset, has had a rough few weeks in terms of market price declines; a month ago today,BTC lost USD $3.5 million, as recent stock market upheaval and the Terra LUNA and UST debacle contributed to bitcoin’s loss value, which was 16.4% higher. However, in terms of market dominance,BTCis the most popular cryptocurrency in the world, with BTCmarket capitalization now more than 44% of the $1.36 trillion crypto economy, among more than 13,000 cryptocurrencies.

while BTCis today’s leading crypto asset number one in terms of market valuation, the market capitalization of crypto assets, along with precious metals such as gold and silver, is the 10th largest in terms of market capitalization of all major market capitalizations derived from the likes of companies such as Apple and Amazon .

Today, gold has the largest market capitalization among the 6,265 commodities and companies that make up its $86,516 billion USD value. Today, each ounce of pure gold trades at $1,848, for an overall valuation of $11,737 billion. According to the Companiesmarketcap.comindex, bitcoin currently has a market capitalization of $603 billion, representing 5.13% of the overall market capitalization of gold.

The second largest asset is Saudi Aramco, worth $2.457 trillion, which dwarfs the entire $1.36 trillion crypto economy. The world’s third largest asset in commodities and corporate equities is Apple at $2.406 trillion. Bitcoin represents just 5% of gold’s net worth, whileBTCrepresents 25.06% of Apple’s market valuation.

Following Apple are assets such as Microsoft, Alphabet (Google), Silver, Amazon, Tesla, and Berkshire Hathaway, respectively. Berkshire Hathaway is above Bitcoin (BTC) as the company’s market cap today is $69.81 billion. This means that the market capitalization ofBTCis equivalent to 86.28% of Berkshire Hathaway’s net worth. Bitcoin’s market capitalization was higher at one time, even exceeding Facebook’s market capitalization.

In February 2022, BTCwas the ninth largest crypto asset, according to the companiesmarketcap.comindex. After recently dropping to lows, BTCoccupied the 11th position in terms of the world’s most valuable assets. The latest gains in crypto assets allowed it to recapture the 10th position in terms of market capitalization of 6,265 commodities and companies.
