Finance School Bentley University Now Accepts Cryptocurrency Payments for Tuition

Bentley University, a private university located in Waltham, Massachusetts, has announced that it now accepts digital currencies for tuition. Bentley University’s president explained that the university is “at the forefront of preparing business leaders,” and went on to say that the faculty is “proud to embrace” the same technologies its students are learning about today.

According to the announcement from Bentley News, the School of Accounting and Finance has partnered with Coinbase to give students and their families the ability to pay tuition in cryptocurrencies.

Bentley will accept three crypto-assets, including bitcoin (BTC), ethereum (ETH) and usd coin (USDC). Bentley president E. Labrent Crete explained that the school, founded 105 years ago, is embracing technology that could completely change the traditional financial landscape.

“Bentley University is at the forefront of preparing business leaders with the skills and knowledge to succeed in a changing global economy,” the university president said in a statement. “We are proud to embrace this technology that our students will learn about and that will soon change the global business landscape they are about to enter.”

Universities around the world are accepting cryptocurrencies, including the University of Cambria in Carlisle, England, the Finance Business School in Paris, France, and the Business School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Spain. Moreover, the University of Applied Sciences Lucerne, Switzerland, accepts cryptocurrency.

In addition to Bentley University in Massachusetts, King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, also accepts bitcoin in the United States, and the University of Pennsylvania accepts cryptocurrency. In addition, the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley) accepts crypto payments. Bentley’s announcement also mentions a student named Alex Kim, who founded the Bentley Blockchain Association.

“Students have a real interest in learning more about blockchain, decentralized finance and cryptocurrency investments,” Kim said in a press statement. “These technologies have an impact on the industries they will work in,” the Bentley student added.
