Google Trends Data Shows Bitcoin Search Interest Surged This Week Amid 10-Month Price High

According to global data from Google Trends, the search term “bitcoin” has reached 93 out of 100 points in the last seven days. Additionally, the price of bitcoin has topped the $30,000 level for the first time in 10 months, since June 2022.

Major Crypto Asset Surpasses $30K, Increasing Search Interest in Bitcoin

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the price of bitcoin crossed the $30,000 mark for the first time since June 8, 2022, according to statistics from coinmarketcap.comBTC’s dominancenow exceeds 47%, the highest in two years. The hashtags #Bitcoin, #ETHand #cryptocurrency are currently trending on Twitter, with over 88,000 tweets currently with the #cryptocurrency hashtag. At 4 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, the search term bitcoinreached a score of 93 out of 100 on Google Trends (GT)

A GT score of 100 means that the search term has reached its peak popularity in the selected region and time period. It also means that more people are searching for that search term than at any other time in the past. A score of 0, on the other hand, means that there is insufficient data to measure the popularity of the search term; Google Trends data shows that the search history goes back to 2004, with the search term bitcoin scoring 2 for the first time in June 2011.

Additionally, search volume for bitcoin has increased in the past 24 hours. Over the past 30 days, this search term has scored64 out of 100. On Tuesday, a bitcoin-related search for news scored, with a score of 54 out of 100. However, on April 10, 2023, the score for bitcoin news jumped to 100. On Tuesday, a significant portion of the global interest in bitcoin search queries was related to El Salvador.

El Salvador was followed by Nigeria, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Switzerland in bitcoin search interest. Bitcoin’s popularity increased this week, but according to GT’s data, the search term has not yet reached the all-time high of 100 achieved in December 2017. During the 2021 bull run when bitcoin surpassed its 2017 price high, the search term for bitcoin reached a score of 65. as of March 2023,GT’s data shows that, the search interest score for bitcoin is 23 out of 100

. This score is higher than the lower score of 17 out of 100 received by the search term bitcoin in December 2022.
