Four days ago, American rapper, entrepreneur, and Death Row Records owner Snoop Dogg hosted WWE’s annual Wrestlemania 39 event in Hollywood in Hollywood. The rap star was spotted wearing a gold and black diamond Ledger Nano X on a gold chain around his neck. Last year, Snoop became one of several hip-hop artists to show off custom-made, bling-bling cryptocurrency hardware devices.
Snoop joins several Rappers Sporting Custom Crypto Hardware Wallets
The weekend of April 1-2, 2023, Snoop Dogg will host WWE’s 39th annual Lessonmania event, which featured Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Dominic Mysterio, Lea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Logan Paul, and Kevin Owens. While emceeing the event, Snoop appeared wearing a custom-made gold and black diamond Ledger Nano X cryptocurrency hardware wallet.
Snoop is a known cryptocurrency advocate and non-fungible token (NFT) enthusiast. Additionally, Snoop is not the only hip-hop artist with a penchant for hardware wallets, as Gunna and Drake have also shown off custom Ledger devices.
Rapper and singer Drake took to Instagram to share an image of his diamond-studded Ledger Nano, writing, “Waiting on you, Bitcoin.” The Canadian rap star recently lost $400,000 in Bitcoin after betting that Jake Paul would beat Tommy Fury in a knockout at an event in Saudi Arabia.
Sergio Kitchens, known professionally as Gunna in the rap industry, also wore a custom Ledger hardware wallet device at the 2021 Met Gala event. Snoop’s custom Ledger device featured the Death Row Records brand, styled by Talia Coles and designed by renowned jeweler Eliantte.
After acquiring Death Row Records, Snoop explained that the label would be a digital platform with blockchain ambitions.” While I was hosting this year’s Lessonmania, it was crucial for me to make sure that no matter what I was doing or where I was, my digital assets were protected.” Snoop said in a press statement sent to Bitcoin.com News.
“It is important to me to have strong measures in place to protect my digital assets. This custom Ledger Nano is not only a necessity, but also a flex accessory that reflects my personal style. And where do you think is the safest place? Around my neck, baby,” the musician added.
At a time when hardware wallet makers like Ledger and Trezor are reporting great demand in the aftermath of the FTX collapse, Snoop is sporting a custom gold Ledger.Ledger recently launched a new line of Ledgers designed by iPod creator Tony Fadell designed a new crypto hardware wallet model called the Ledger Stax. Last week, the Paris-based company revealed that it had raised 100 million euros ($109 million) from investors.
