With over 150,000 Ordinal Inscriptions on the Bitcoin Blockchain, there is no denying that people appreciate the concept and that there continues to be demand for the technology. This week, Taproot Wizard and crypto advocate Udi Wertheimer spoke about howthe creator of the original Bitcoin Wizard memeraised 6BTC BTC. Wertheimer explained how he andTaproot Wizardsthis past Saturday helpedmeme creator Mavensbot celebrate the 10th anniversary of his artwork by publishing and selling a collection of ordinal number displays explained how he helped publish and sell it.
“Proceeds – over 66BTC in 3 hours! – went to support the artist,” Wertheimer tweeted.” Payments were mostly from NFT enjoyers, downloading Lightning Wallet for the first time in their lives from [Lightning Network ExtensionAlbie], paying for [bitcoin], all within 3 hours of the limited sale.”
Wertheimer added that seeing it all happen made him really happy just to support the artist with bitcoin (BTC) and the Lightning network. However, Wertheimer also noted that bitcoin maximalist and r/bitcoin moderatorBashcodisliked bitcoin; Bashcohated this inscription.” Bitcoin Maxim hates us for it. And of course they do,” Wertheimer claimed, sharing a screenshot of Bashco’s comments. The crypto advocate’s tweet also mentioned howBashcois well known for “supporting extreme censorship” on subreddit r/bitcoin.
He said that people like the Maximalists and Bashco hate Ordinal Inscription because they have decided that JPEGs are evil. “The high priest of the Bitcoin cult has spoken,” Wertheimer remarks, and despite people like Bashco and a group of individuals who call themselves maximalists, Wertheimer says that most “Bitcoiners are not like this.” He insists. As one individual put it, ” I don’t understand – the Bitcoin Maxi wants (Bitcoin) to be a global currency, but you can’t buy JPEGs with it?”
Wertheimer stressed that real bitcoiners are “builders, explorers, researchers, and quite simply people who have fun,” adding that bitcoin maxi is “sick.” The crypto advocate ended his tweet by noting that he believes it is time for Bitcoiner to heal.” Time to get back into the spirit of the 2013 Bitcoin wizards. Playfulness, experimentation, innovation. Don’t take ourselves so seriously, all the time. For Satoshi’s sake, have fun.”
