Over 150,000 Ordinals have been inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain, and as creators and artists have found new ways to monetize their artwork through blockchain technology, now numerous collections exist. In the past month, people have launched collections of Ordinal Punks, Ordinal Penguins, Bitcoin Shrooms, Inscribed Pepe, Planetary Ordinals, Based Apes, Satoshi Punks, Ordinals Eggs, Block Munchers, and other collections are being launched. While the inscription trend is still young, several collections are trying to establish themselves in this emerging market, and some are selling for considerable value.

Recently, a number of audinals have been inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain due to a significant increase in demand for the technology. For several years now, collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Cryptopunks, Azuki, Moon Birds, Doodles, and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) have been established on blockchains such as Ethereum.
Some of these non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have become known as “blue chip” NFTs because they retain significant value and have been sold on the open market for several years. For example, BAYC and Cryptopunks currently hold thehighest floor valueof all collections.

Many of the newly minted Ordinal nameplate collections are similar to ideas derived from popular Ethereum collections such as Ordinal Punks collection. This collection features different versions of pixelated punk characters, with only 100 available as opposed to the 10,000 available Cryptopunks.
