Opera Extends Web3 Capabilities with Access to Polygon Domains
Unstoppable Domains, a crypto domain provider, and Opera, a Web3 browser, have announced the availability of .nft, .crypto, .wallet, . x, etc., to expand their partnership to support Unstoppable top-level domains
In November 2022, Web3 browser company Opera launcheddegenknows.io, a tool for tracking and exploring NFT analytics. The following month, Operalaunched Alteon Launchpad, a tool that allows users to create a web page with a single click. This allowed users to create NFTs without any coding experience; Jorgen Arnesen, Senior Vice President of Mobile at Opera, said, “Unstoppable Domains gives everyone control over their digital identity It provides a powerful mechanism.”
Arnesen said the collaboration allows users to “safely and securely access Web3 content through all versions of the Opera browser.” In addition, the integration with Unstoppable allows for the use of human-readable domains such as “rockstar.nft” in the Opera Crypto Wallet. This allows users to share the name “rockstar.nft” to receive assets rather than using long alphanumeric cryptocurrency addresses.
Opera has long been involved with crypto assets and is committed to privacy with ad blockers, tracker blockers, and VPNs as standard features. The browser first introduced a cryptocurrency wallet integrated into the browsing experience in July 2018.On February 16, Opera’s Nasdaq-listed stock fell 1.48%, but is up 22.33% in year-to-date statistics. As of September 2022, Opera’s net incomehas declined by 60.07%and its net profit margin has dropped by 68.81%.
