“So, pooh-poohing the volatility of crypto, or cryptocurrencies, will only make it better in terms of how it is protected.” He added without providing further details.
Hollywood stars have previously revealed that they own cryptocurrencies.” A friend of mine bought some for me a while back,” he said in December 2021, adding that he has done nothing with it.
Reeves, NFT, and Metaverse
Reeves also explained how he became an advisor to the Futureverse Foundation, a charity launched last June by Non-Fungible Labs, a New Zealand-based non-fungible token (NFT) and blockchain technology company The foundation, in addition to supporting represented artists, “aims to help ensure that the Metaverse remains widely accessible, healthy, and evolving,” he explained.
Reeves shared. “It’s something that my partner, Alexandra Grant, is really interested in, so I kind of followed in her footsteps. I helped set up the start-up.” Both Reeves and Grant serve on the advisory board of the Futurebirth Foundation. Reeves said.
We are trying to give artists with different perspectives an opportunity to take this technology that people are interested in.
Reeves commented on Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) making Metaverse a priority.” It’s like they created more land. They have more land for sale. It’s wealth creation and opportunity.”
The Matrix star previously expressed skepticism about NFT, saying it is “easy to produce.” He was also skeptical of the Facebook metaverse.” What if we can prevent Facebook from inventing something like the Metaverse? The concept of a metaverse is like much older than that,” he said in December 2021.
