According to multiple sources, the Robin Hood Twitter account was hacked on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. The account posted a tweet promoting Binance smart chain tokens listed on the Pancakeswap decentralized exchange. Analysis of the status on the blockchain showed that the token had received less than $1,000 in purchases before Robinhood deleted the tweet.
On-chain analysis revealed the limited impact of the fraudulent tweets shared by Robinhood’s Twitter account

The tweet says:” Reminder, we will launch our new token ($RBH) on the Binance smart chain. It will go live at 12am Eastern Standard Time. You can be one of the first to buy at the starting price of $0.0005.” The tweet originated from the @Robinhoodapp account and includes a link to the Pancakeswap platform where the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) tokens are listed.
“Oh my God,” one Twitter userwroteon Wednesday.” Robinhood’s Twitter account has been hacked. They are posting links for crypto giveaways sh**. No one is safe in this world,” the individual added.” Robinhood’s official Twitter account appears to have been hacked.” Another accounton Twitter said
Conor Grogan, a Coinbase employee who tweets about on-chain activity as a hobby, alsotweetedabout the scam.” The on-chain researcher noted on Twitter that “Robin Hood’s social media seems to have been hacked.” They only got ~10 people to bite on the scam tokens before the link was removed.” Grogan added:
So far, the tokens have only seen [less than] $1000 in purchases. I imagine people flocking in now are looking for a thrill, seeing a spike in volume.
The Twitter account @Robinhoodapp has yet to tweet about the issue or confirm whether the account has been hacked. The account has a total of 1.1 million followers on social media. This article is in development and may be updated at a later date.
