NFT Sales Drop 59% in Second Week of 2023; Ethereum Dominates Top 20 Blockchains with 75% of Sales

Non-fungible token (NFT) sales are down significantly in contrast to seven days ago, as NFT sales this week are down 59.35%. Over the past seven days, $208.68 million in NFT sales were recorded, with $157.20 attributed to the Ethereum blockchain. The best-selling NFT collection over the past week was Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), with $16.69 million in sales, representing 7.998% of the $208 million in sales this week.

Ethereum and Solana lead NFT sales among the top 20 blockchains as digital collective sales decline this week

In the first week of 2023, NFT sales increased 26% compared to the last week of 2022. However, sales on Sunday, January 15, 2023, were down 59.35% from the previous week; of the top 20 blockchains issuing NFTs, Ethereum accounted for 75.33% of the sales recorded between January 8 and January 15, 2023.

Solana occupied the second position in NFT sales, with 18.04% of total sales for the week, or $37.66 million. Following Ethereum and Solana, Immutable X, Binance Coin (BNB), and Cardano rounded out the top five as this week’schain NFT sales data.

The top five NFT collections in total sales this week were Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), Azuki, Art Blocks, and Bored Ape Kennel Club, in that order. They were followed by Otherdeed, Sorare, The Captainz, Beanz, and Mutant Hound Collars.

According todatafrom nftpricefloor.com, the BAYC collection had the highest NFT floor value on Sunday, January 15, 2023. BAYC was followed by Cryptopunks, MAYC, the Autoglyphs, and The Sandbox, respectively. At the time of writing, BAYC had a floor value of 70.408compared to ETH. ETH. while Cryptopunks on Sunday had a floor value of 66.19

NFT sales last week saw an influx of transactions from the Mineablepunks collection, as the top five most expensive NFT sales came from that compilation. This week, according to cryptoslam.io statistics, the most expensive NFT was Cryptopunk #4,608, which sold for $329,000 five days ago.

The second most expensive NFT sold in the past seven days was Cryptopunk #6,994, which sold for $283,000 three days ago. The top two most expensive NFTs sold this week were Otherdeed #89,263, followed by Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) #7,576.

NFT collections with better sales this week than the previous week were Artblocks, up 62.94%; Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), up 8.10%; Otherdeed, up 11.97%; and Beanz, up 32.82%.

On the blockchain, Binance Coin (BNB) NFT sales increased 62.20%, Flow sales increased 77.99%, Immutable X jumped 8.51%, Solana rose 3.11%, and Ronin NFT sales increased 84.5% in the past seven days. They are up 75%. Blockchains with sales declines from last week include Ethereum, Cardano, Wax, Algorand, and Cronos.
