Cryptocurrency Exchange to Sponsor Ukraine’s National Soccer Team

Ukraine’s national soccer team has signed a sponsorship deal with an industry player looking to attract fans and promote cryptocurrency adoption. As part of the agreement, the EU-based coin trading platform will be the team’s crypto partner for the next three years.

Whitebit Exchange aims to expand Ukraine’s crypto community by engaging soccer fans

Whitebit, a European cryptocurrency exchange with roots in Ukraine, has agreed to a long-term partnership with Ukraine’s national soccer team. Under the agreement, its logo will be featured during team games, crypto news outlet Forklog reported, citing the company.

“We are delighted simply because we are on the same field with soccer fans, since we have just signed a partnership with the Ukrainian national soccer team. With this, we will support Ukrainian sports and expand the Ukrainian crypto community,” the trading platform said in ablog post.

Whitebit will be the team’s official crypto partner until 2026. During that period, the exchange will host various entertainment and educational events at the House of Football in Kiev for those who want to learn more about blockchain, as well as competitions for supporters.

The plan is to involve soccer fans in the joint project and promote the spread of cryptocurrencies in the Ukrainian sports sector and in the country in general. Over the past few years, the Eastern European country has established itself as a regional leader in terms of crypto adoption.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has relied on many coin donations for humanitarian and defensive efforts. The crypto industry provided assistance, and Whitebit was one of the companies that provided help, along with Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange.

“We are confident that even more people will discover cryptocurrencies, their convenience and accessibility as a result of our partnership,” commented Volodymyr Nosov, CEO of Lithuania-based Whitebit.

This is not Whitebit’s first attempt in the world of soccer: in December 2022, the exchange became an official partner of Spanish soccer giant Barcelona. Now, while the partner’s main goal is to attract supporters to the latest technology, the company points out that its efforts are aimed at promoting cryptocurrency and blockchain.
