Crypto Companies Increasing Efforts To Help Ukrainians, Crypto.com and Blockchain.com Join In

While Vladimir Putin is relentlessly pushing to overtake Ukraine, numerous sections of society have done everything to help the people of Ukraine, including crypto companies.

A few days ago, the major crypto exchange FTX announced that it issued USD 25 to every Ukrainian user. "Do what you have to do," FTX chief executive Sam Bankman-Fried said in a tweet announcing the move.

Now more announcements are coming.

In the early morning (UTC) of the , the major crypto exchange announced that it has made a donation of USD 1 million to the Red Cross.

In the announcement tweet, CEO Kris Marszalek wrote: "Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and innocent bystanders in the ongoing conflict," adding:

"We urge our community to do everything possible to support the humanitarian efforts."

The CEO shared a link to the website of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where donations can be made. The Red Cross accepts various fiat currencies, credit cards and PayPal, as well as individual or monthly donations.

"The [ICRC] – together with its partners in the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement – remains active in Ukraine, saving and protecting the lives of victims of armed conflicts and violence," the website says.

Meanwhile, Peter Smith, CEO and co-founder of another popular crypto platform, , said on the same day that all fees on the platform for trading and exchanging crypto for Ukrainian users have been waived with immediate effect.

There are no fees for buying and selling in the wallet.

There are no fees for trading on the stock exchange.

There are no fees for swaps made in your trading account.

There are no fees for swaps where the target is your Private Key Wallet.

As reported, crypto has proven to be a useful way to raise money for organizations in Ukraine, as banks are taking new restrictive measures and at least one fiat-based fundraising service has suspended donations to a Ukrainian non-profit organization.

And although not every organization/entity accepts donations in crypto, * * has created a list of those who do, along with fiat donation options. The list is expected to grow.
