Rep. Waters told Bankman-Fried Monday: I was. It is clear that the information you have obtained so far is sufficient for your testimony. In a follow-up tweet, she wrote:

As you know, the fall of FTX cost her over one million people. Your testimony is not only relevant to members of Congress, it is important to the American people.

However, during the 2021-22 elections, Some suspect Waters is courteous to Bankman-Fried, since the former FTX boss was the second-largest donor to the Democratic Party. According to Opensecrets, he donated his $39,884,256 to the Democratic Party before his FTX imploded and had to file for bankruptcy. However, Tesla CEO and his Twitter chief Elon Musk thinks his SBF’s actual support for the Democrats is more than $1 billion.
