Open Metaverse Alliance OMA3 Launches to Develop Standards for an Interoperable Digital World

Open Metaverse Alliance OMA3 wants to address the problem of an isolated world

The metaverse concept will grow to define quite a few business models in the coming years. but there is something unique about it. I have a problem with the current execution. There are currently many metaverses in existence, but they are non-interoperable and non-interoperable. The Open Metaverse Alliance OMA3, launched on November 1st, aims to help solve this problem by creating standards for how this communication takes place.

OMA3 declares the metaverse concept to be community-driven, based on user ownership, and transferable of assets. Based in Switzerland, the association is made up of companies such as Animoca Brands, Alien Worlds, Dapper Labs, Metametaverse, Space Metaverse, Superworld, The Sandbox, Upland, Voxels and Unstoppable Domains.

Regarding the purpose of the Society, Dirk Lueth, one of the organization’s founding members, said:

Key Research Areas

To achieve its goals, the body has published a series of key areas . walking group. The Portal and Mapping Working Group will address the issue of porting users between metaverse worlds. A legal working group will also deal with the complexities stemming from the nature of digital IP originating from these digital worlds, while another group will develop standards for moving digital assets between these metaverses. In this way, investments and assets can flow freely between different metaverse platforms.

His COO of Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, said of the importance of this view for the future of these platforms:

OMA3 is not the first group to try to propose a standard for the metaverse. On June 21st, the Metaverse Standards Forum was launched with the same purpose, united by companies such as Meta, Microsoft, Epic Games, Adobe and Nvidia.
