Press Release The blockchain game built by GAMEDIA and published by web3 industry leader Gala Games is currently running its final round of playtesting before preparing for a full launch on October 31.
Spider Tanks is one of the first games to feature Gala Games’ Web3 (blockchain) technology, with an official release scheduled for Halloween 2022. The game is an arena-style PvP brawler. Players customize their tanks in a garage consisting of upgradable parts owned by the player. These parts are also owned as transferable blockchain items, commonly known as NFTs.
Launch of Spider Tanks is not only the first AAA quality release from a long developing project for Gala Games, but the game’s esports appeal and reward opportunities for the game’s esports appeal and rewards, and is important to the wider gaming community. There are many ways for players to get involved in Spider Tanks ecosystem for rewards, especially for the most skilled players.
Additionally, as of the official launch, Spider Tanks will be powered by Gala’s proprietary Layer 1 blockchain, currently known as Project GYRI. Custom-built for large-scale decentralized gaming platforms, the blockchain aims to reduce network fees, improve sustainability, and maximize efficiency by eliminating aspects of the more widespread Ethereum network that are unnecessary for gaming purposes. Spider Tanks is also a poignant launch for Web3, as there are a variety of ways for players and collectors to support the game for rewards. For battles, players and owners are rewarded with a game reward token called SILK. These tokens are granted directly to the player’s Gala Games wallet and can be used in-game.
