Samsung Latam, the electronics company’s Latin American regional arm, has launched a digital online space to increase awareness of its brand in the world. The company will maintain a space called “House of Sam” on Decentraland, one of the largest ethereum-based metaverse platforms.

According to reports, the purpose of the move is to bring the brand closer to a new generation of consumers who use the Metaverse as a tool. The space is already open to users and was launched on September 1 with a virtual show by Brazilian trio Melim.

Commenting on the launch of this new digital space and its purpose, Arthur Wong, Marketing Director of Samsung Latam, said.

Our customers will be able to interact with each other and participate in exclusive shows, courses and events we offer for free in Decentraland, one of the most democratic and open spaces in the Metaverse. Our goal is to get closer than ever to Generation Z, the young consumers who no longer draw boundaries between the physical and the virtual.

The House of Sam will offer a series of mini-games about the brand and provide prizes for users in the form of wearables exclusively for Decentraland avatars. Leading Samsung-branded products, such as the Freestyle portable projector, will also appear in the virtual space.

This is one of many moves Samsung has already made directly into the metaverse, but the company has also been active in the non-fungible token (NFT) market and the bitcoin mining chip business. in July, as part of the Roblox platform, Space launched another metaverse experience called Tycoon; in January, it opened its own storefront in Decentraland.
