Microstrategy Is Seeking a Full-Time Lightning Network Engineer to Build a SaaS Platform

According to a job posting published this week, Microstrategy, a provider of mobile software, cloud-based services, and business intelligence (BI), has a full-time Lightning Network Software Engineer, according to the company. If hired, this developer will build a Lightning Network-based software as a service (SaaS) platform that can be used for e-commerce use cases and connect with companies seeking payment solutions as well.

Microstrategy is considering hiring a Lightning Network software developer

After the company purchased 301 bitcoins (BTC) to hold on its balance sheet, BI firm Microstrategy has published a job posting on its web portal smartrecruiters.com Microstrategy’s job opening is for a full-time employment as a Bitcoin Lightning Software Engineer, and the selected individual will be responsible for creating the Lightning Network (LN) SaaS platform.

Microstrategy posted the position on smartrecruiters.com this week.

“As a Bitcoin Lightning Software Engineer at Microstrategy, you will build the Lightning network-based SaaS platform, provide innovative solutions to cybersecurity challenges for businesses and and enable new e-commerce use cases.” Microstrategy executive Chen Wan explains.

Interested candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, and “a master’s or PhD in computer science/engineering is a plus,” Wan’s job summary details. Additionally, candidates must have “strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems, and other fundamental computer science concepts,” the job posting adds.

The Lightning Network is Bitcoin’s second-tier (L2) scaling solution, first introduced in 2015. At the time of writing, LN capacity is 4,905.29 BTCor $95.2 million in USD value; according to September 30statisticsthere are now 17,203 LN nodes and 84,928 payment channels; LN Tor has about 12,305 nodes and LN Tor capacity ratio is 69.3%.

Microstrategy’s engineering work will allow the chosen person to leverage the Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain and Lightning networks as well as “other decentralized financial (defi) technologies” It stated that it will build software solutions. Additionally, contributing to the Bitcoin Core codebase and other types of open source cryptocurrency coding projects is a “plus.”
