HistoryDAO’s Mission to Take History From the Victors and Give It to the Masses

Since prehistoric times, humans have tried to preserve memories, carving images on cave walls and making knots in crude strings. Then tribes and clans gave birth to languages to preserve the past in words, words took hold as printed matter, and history took shape.

In the information age, the Internet has become the bearer of historical records, achieving an almost geological level of permanence through the power of immutable “blocks” recorded in blockchains.

The blockchain was a timely development and, in fact, a solution to certain curses of history.

What is the curse of history?

Centralization of Historical Records From ancient times to the present, the power to record history has been in the hands of centralized entities. Informal histories and private records, if any, have been obscured by the nobility of the media. But despite the “information age,” this situation is uninterrupted and arguably getting worse, as powerful centralized media have amassed more power than ever before. Meanwhile, the world of cryptography is creating means of recording that no central authority has access to.

The volume and complexity of information is overwhelming. Under the vast mountains of data that mark the information age, it is almost impossible to determine or assert what is true. The public, whose voices are becoming shriller and shriller, has no means of asserting its own history. Perhaps in the future there will be little left to believe about us that has remained for centuries.

HistoryDAOaims to solve the above through web3 &blockchain technology.

Using blocks to carry history

During his exile, Herodotus traveled throughout the Persian Empire in the 5th century B.C., recording what he saw and heard from his own perspective and wrote Ἱστορίαι (History) Ἱστορίαι (History). This is the first fully handed down historical record in Western history. The Roman eloquent Cicero called him “the father of history.”

Herodotus may have intended an objective account, but everything he recorded was necessarily subjective from his point of view. Historical records generally lack a certain fairness in this regard.

It is famously said that “history is written by the victors,” but the truth is known by those who experience it. Even the ancient Greek historian Thucydides tried to overcome this problem by focusing on rigorous data collection and causal analysis. He consciously avoided relying on third-party impressions, writing, “The events described are either what I saw or what I carefully examined by interviewing those who actually saw them.”

Herodotus and Thucydides were great historians, but how could the average witness have been more involved?

Blockchain may have the answer.

Just as Bitcoin decentralizes minting power, HistoryDAO decentralizes historical record power.

Blockchain technology allowsHistoryDAOto allow users to issue, query, and trade NFTs of any record in Ethereum andBNB chains:

HistoryDAO supports various data formats in the form of history records, allowing users to record multi-dimensional information

HistoryDAO has a secondary market for NFTs, allowing users to efficiently discover , evaluate, trade, manage, and ultimately increase the value of moments and history

HistoryDAO is completely community owned and managed, with a community agenda driving the full development of the DAO,

in a nutshell, HistoryDAO is a DAO, i.e. an NFT platform run by a decentralized community organization.

HistoryDAO provides a service to record history for individuals, but also history agreed upon by the DAO organization. The community is responsible for recording historical numbers for weeks, months, and years, historical processes, historical albums, and significant historical events.

How does the HistoryDAO organize and commercialize its products?

Let’s take a deep dive into HistoryDAO’s functions and services from three aspects.

Mint History NFTs and Secondary Markets

As mentioned above, HistoryDAO allows users to record a variety of historical information, which is then stored in the users’ blockchain wallet in NFTs, which are open, transparent, and 100% tamper-proof.

Again, the data the user records can be anything. It can be a fun memory with a friend or loved one, a great scene from a game, or any other slice of life. When future generations recreate the lives of their contemporaries through NFTs recorded in HistoryDAO, they will be far more confident in their preservation of dates and intactness than we are in examining maps of the Qingming Festival to learn about the ancients.

When casting an NFT, HistoryDAO users pay 0. 01 0.01ETHbetween the service fee and the gas fee. The service fee is transferred directly to the Market Liquidity Reserve (DAO treasury) managed by the DAO.

The Historical NFTs minted by the user can then be circulated and traded on the secondary market, paying a 2% transaction fee to the HistoryDAO market, which is also transferred to the DAO treasury.

The HistoryDAO market also sorts the various historical NFTs, and the sorting references multiple properties, including listing time, page views, and favorites of the corresponding NFT. Also, to make the exposure of each historical NFT as fair as possible, each new algorithm change should be proposed in the DAO and supported by the community.

Initial NFT Offerings (INO)

To make the historical record more efficient, theHistoryDAOOfferings” or INO, which introduces the concept of “Initial NFTs” or INOs. Any user can contribute a topic to a collection of NFTs, and this is done by co-building a collection of NFTs with other community members.

Take sporting events for example.

In a given season, a user can create an NFT of each game, whether it be basketball or anything else, and as the season progresses, the details of each game can be documented by photos, video clips, player data and other information. Of course, NFTs of beautiful games are more collectible than NFTs of ordinary games, and NFTs of finals are more collectible than NFTs of earlier playoffs. Users can choose the best moments of any number of games and cast NFTs at any time after the season is over. For brands, the INO campaign is a very cost-effective way to repurpose the influence of past events.

Of course, this is just an example in the wider sports world. But an INO campaign deployed in HistoryDAO can be done in any category.

Brands with innovative marketing ideas can also use HistoryDAO to commemorate their campaigns on NFT and make them last through transactions and audience engagement.

DAOs and Tokens

Unlike other NFT platforms, HistoryDAO focuses on community interaction and community power. HistoryDAO is a platform for recording history, not an NFT trading marketplace. Therefore, in its product design, HistoryDAO pays more attention to the algorithms of community activity and hopes to build a strong community product like Reddit.

Community power means, in part, preventing the centralization of historical records and free speech. Decentralized communities can resist censorship of the historical record by powerful interest groups. They will increase people’s enthusiasm for decentralized historical records and improve the value of HistoryDAO NFT.

Governance of HistoryDAO is facilitated by its native token $HAO.Possession of an $HAO is an entry qualification for DAO participation; after joining a DAO, community members may perform governance actions such as submitting proposals, commenting, and voting.

In addition to governance, $HAO applies to all aspects of the HistoryDAO product. For example, if a marketplace does an NFT transaction and $HAO is used for payment, it will only charge a 1.5% fee instead of the standard 2% fee.

From Witness to Writing. how does HistoryDAO enhance Web3?

There is no doubt that history holds special significance for humanity and each and every human being. In the words of Tang Emperor Taizong Li Shimin, “If you use a copper as a mirror, you can straighten your clothes. If we use people as a mirror, we can know gain and loss. If we use history as a mirror, we can know the rise and fall.”

History is the foundation upon which we move forward.

However, relevant interest groups often revise the historical record, covering up scandals or bending the record for private purposes. In any case, the historical record is often guided by subjective feelings and loses its inherent fairness.

Today, HistoryDAO is reversing the shortcomings of historical records through blockchain and NFT technology. But just as Bitcoin decentralizes the power of minting, HistoryDAO decentralizes the power of history.

A decentralized and tamper-resistant historical record records history from multiple perspectives and seeks fairness and authenticity in the historical record.

This embodies the spirit advocated by Web3, which advocates for individual sovereignty and the value of the individual in a diverse community, in which the victor will no longer write history and all men can participate equally.

NFT tied to real-world topics will increase the relevance of Web3 to the real world and attract more people to actively understand the Web3 world. In addition, enabling the adoption of NFT through accurate historical records will encourage further development and maturation of the Web3 world.

In addition, INO campaigns led by HistoryDAO can provide powerful marketing support for a variety of brands; it is becoming a trend for Web2 brands to be marketed through Web3 means. Tiffany’s CryptoPunks custom NFT launch and Starbucks’ Starbucks Odyssey program are good examples.

As the influence of the Web3 world grows, more and more Web2 brands will consider how to use Web3 to grow their marketing campaigns and communities. For unfamiliar Web2 brands, a simple and intuitive Web3 marketing plan is all they need.

And the INO campaign launched byHistoryDAO in 242} meets this need. This demand will be one of the main drivers of HistoryDAO’s future growth.

Once in stone, then in letters, now in blocks

HistoryDAO’s founding mission was to enable everyone to record history without centralized power. The essence of HistoryDAO is to enable decentralization of power over historical records.

This is undoubtedly a breakthrough and a deconstruction of the spirit of Web3, which is much more than decentralized finance because it involves multiple levels of thought, application and integration into human culture. With the power of decentralized historical records granted by blockchain technology, everyone in this world will have the opportunity to say like Caesar I came, I saw, I recorded.
