Global Manhunt for Terra Luna Founder Do Kwon After Interpol Issues Red Notice

Interpol issued his notice just weeks after an arrest warrant for Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, was issued by South Korean authorities. The Red Notice allows South Korea, with the help of international law enforcement agencies, to locate and “provisionally arrest the person until extradition, rendition, or similar legal action is taken.”

Global Search for Terraform Labs CEO

Just weeks after South Korean authorities issued an arrest warrant for Do Kwon and his associates, Interpol reportedly issued a Red Notice to the co-founder of Terraform Labs. The notice was issued in response to reports that Kwon was not residing in Singapore, as the Korean authorities initially believed.

According to Interpol, Red Notices are “issued to fugitives wanted for prosecution or execution of a sentence.” A Red Notice allows South Korea to receive assistance from law enforcement agencies around the world to locate and “provisionally arrest the person pending extradition, extradition, or similar legal action.”

Do Kwon’s Silence

As reported by Bitcoin.com News, South Korean prosecutors have charged Kwon and five other Terraform Labs affiliates with violating the country’s capital markets laws. Kwon has also facing other charges that prosecutors have not disclosed.

In an initial response to reports that South Korean authorities had issued an arrest warrant for him, Kwon insisted in a September 17 tweet that he is not a fugitive. Instead, he claimed that he was cooperating with “any government agency that has expressed interest in communications.”

Terraform Labs’ CEO has not responded to reports that Interpol has issued a red notice. At 1:05 p.m. ET today, Kwon responded to a tweet bysaying: “[Do Kwon] where [are] you hiding fam?”; Kwonrepliedthat he was “in the living room” writing “code” and furthertold the person, “Come visit and have a smoke soon.”
