Ukrainians shop online from Varus Supermarkets using crypto

Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by daily trading volume, and Ukrainian supermarket chain Varusannounced a partnership that will allow Ukrainian shoppers to buy food and other goods online using digital coins.

Using the Binance and Varus apps, customers can enjoy instant crypto payments and fast delivery in nine Ukrainian cities (capital Kiev, Dnipro, Kamianske, Kryvyi Ri, Zaporizhya, Brovary, Nikopol, Vyshord and Pavlograd)

To take advantage of the payment options, crypto owners will need to download and install the Binance app on their Android or iOS device. They can then visit the Varus website, select the products they wish to purchase, and send digital money from their Binance Pay wallet.

In a report on the announcement of the new payment method, crypto news outlet Forklog noted that earlier this year the Binance Pay service was integrated by Ukrainian appliance and electronics store chain Foxtrot The company has also announced that it will be offering a new payment method.

Whitepay introduced crypto payments in August for products offered by major Ukrainian tech stores; customers of retailers such as Tehnoezh and Stylus can now use the payments established by Whitebit, a European crypto exchange with roots in Ukraine platform, which now offers services provided by the platform.

Over the past few years, Ukraine has become a regional leader in terms of cryptocurrency adoption, and has made efforts to regulate the industry as the ongoing military conflict with Russia has further increased the popularity of Bitcoin and other currencies.

Both the government and volunteer groups in Kiev are actively raising funds through crypto donations to fund defense and humanitarian initiatives. The crypto community has responded to the call for support; in June, Binance issued special crypto cards for Ukrainian refugees.

By donating BTC, ETH, or BNB to Binance Charity’s Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund, you can help families, children, refugees, and displaced persons in Ukraine.
