Study Identifies the Top 10 States in America Most Interested in Bitcoin, Ethereum

On September 2, crypto market aggregation web portal Coingecko.com published today. The team leveraged Coingecko’s page traffic data and found that California received 43% of the traffic visiting the site’s Bitcoin and Ethereum web pages.

California and Illinois top the list, with New Jersey and Indiana at the bottom

Between May 2 and August 21, 2022, Coingecko researchers conducted astudyaimed at determining the top 10 and 20 US states most interested in the two major cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Coingecko leveraged the site’s web traffic data and indexed the data set to 100, with 100 being the highest web page traffic score. Crypto market aggregation sites are popular, as is the similarweb.com global rank of 1,743 and 3,150 in the US.

According to September 3 statistics, coingecko.com recorded 44.4 million visits last month. coingecko’s research shows that of all U.S. states, California had by far the highest index, and Illinois had the second highest score.

Illinois residents visited more Bitcoin web pages and less Ethereum web pages. Most of the top 20 states had higher Bitcoin scores, but states like New Jersey, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Florida had higher Ethereum rank scores.

Following the second most interested states were New York, Florida, Washington, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, and Arizona.Bobby Ong, COO and co-founder of Coingecko, said that bit explained that he was not surprised that California was the most predominant state in the U.S. in terms of interest in coin and ethereum.

“As one of the world’s major technological hubs, it is not surprising that California takes the crown in “blue chip” cryptocurrency interest,” Ong said in a statement on Friday. Notably, Colorado, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Florida are more interested in Ethereum than Bitcoin,” he said. It remains to be seen how these rankings and market shares will play out in the future in the wake of Ethereum’s Merge.”
