Veve Partners With Marvel to Drop Limited Edition NFT Covers Featuring Spider-Man, Black Panther

On August 29, digital collectibles company Veve announced that the platform has launched digital variant non-fundable token (NFT) covers of three Marvel Comics artists announced that Veve and Marvel detailed that the NFT drop, called the Marvel Artworks collection, will be a limited edition, one-to-one release of three Marvel Comics covers featuring Spider-Man, Black Panther.

Marvel Entertainment continues to release products for the NFT industry with itsVeve Digital Collectibles. Both companies recently dropped three limited edition NFTs from the Marvel Artworks collection Plans have been revealed; Veve has worked with Marvel in the past, dropping Spider-Man and Captain America digital collectibles in 2021. In addition, Veve has also collaboratedwith Marvel competitor DC Comics and entertainment giant Walt Disney.

The latest Veve and Marvel NFT auction begins today and will run through Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2pm PT. Bidding starts at $1,500 per digital collectible, and Veve says the auction is silent, “All bids will be hidden from auctioneers, and the highest bidder will win when the auction timer runs out.”

The NFT features artwork from Sarah Pichelli’sMiles Morales Spider-Man #25” featuring artwork from Brian Stelfreeze’s “Black Panther #25Black Panther #25″ and Scotty Young’s “Amazing Spider-Man #1The Amazing Spider-Man #1“.” Veve uses a scaling solutionfrom Immutable X, which just partnered with Gamestop’s NFT platform last February.

Veve’s last visit with Marvel was six days ago, on August 23, when the two companies dropped the “Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #3” NFT. The Secret Wars-centric non-fundable tokens are fully readable, offer five cover rares, and are distributed in blind box format.

Meanwhile, non-fundable token sales are down nearly 10% over the past month compared to statistics 30 days ago over the past month, down nearly 10%.47} According to cryptoslam.io metrics, NFT sales managed to collect $633 million in sales last month, compared to $666.93 million in NFT sales in the previous month.

Immutable X is now the third largest blockchain in NFT sales this month, with Immutable X-based NFT sales up 169% over the previous month. Data from Google Trendsshows that interest in the term “NFT” is very low compared to the first month of January, when the search term recorded a GT score of 100.

The search term “NFT” is dreary this week, with a GT score of about 14 for the week beginning August 21, which is quite low. The lack of interest and the low volume of NFT sales hasn’t stopped large companies like Funko, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Hasbro, Mattel, Atari, Topps, and others from continuing to drop entertainment and brand-related NFTs in 2022.
