The Number of Cryptocurrency ATMs Installed Worldwide Surpasses 39,000

The number of cryptocurrency automated teller machines (ATMs) in operation worldwide surpassed 39,000 this week. Since January 2017, when the count was approaching 1K machines, the number of crypto ATMs has increased 3,925% since then. The number of crypto ATMs has grown exponentially over the past 23 months since September 1, 2020, when there were less than 10K machines worldwide.

On January 1, 2017, there were approximately 969 crypto ATMs worldwide and installed since that time, an increase of3,925%. Geographic distribution statisticsshow that North America accounts for 95.1% of all crypto ATMs worldwide, with 37,081.

The United States accounts for 87.9% of all crypto ATM installations worldwide, with 34,299. The rest of the world has about 4.9% of the crypto ATMs currently in operation, with Europe accounting for 3.8% of that total.

On Sunday, August 7, 2022, the gauge says14.7 crypto ATMsper day at the current rate. That means that in roughly 67.27 days, the number of crypto ATMs installed worldwide at that rate should reach 40K.
