Since January 2017, when the count was approaching 1K machines, the number of crypto ATMs has increased 3,925% since then. The number of crypto ATMs has grown exponentially over the past 23 months since September 1, 2020, when there were less than 10K machines worldwide.

On January 1, 2017, there were approximately 969 crypto ATMs worldwide and installed since that time, an increase of3,925%. Geographic distribution statisticsshow that North America accounts for 95.1% of all crypto ATMs worldwide, with 37,081.
The United States accounts for 87.9% of all crypto ATM installations worldwide, with 34,299. The rest of the world has about 4.9% of the crypto ATMs currently in operation, with Europe accounting for 3.8% of that total.

However, 33,056 of the total also support alternative crypto assets. Litecoin (LTC) is distributed across 32,466 machines, Ethereum (ETH) is supported by 29,324 devices, Dogcoin (DOGE) is held by 16,132 machines, and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is supported by 13,801 crypto ATMs.

Thetop crypto ATM operatorby number of operating machines worldwide is Bitcoin Depot, with 17.7% of the world’s total, or 6,896 crypto ATM devices installed.Bitcoin Depot is the leading crypto ATM operator in the world with 5,643 machines supported by Coincloud (5,643 machines), Coinflip (4,124 ), followed by Bitcoin of America (2,339 machines), Bitstop (1,969 machines), and Rockitcoin (1,781 machines).
Genesis Coin is the topcrypto ATM manufacturerglobally as it accounts for 40.6% of today’s machines, while General Bytes is second with 22.8% of the world’s manufactured crypto ATMs. Crypto ATM manufacturers Genesis Coin and General Bytes are followed by Bitaccess (15.8%), Coinsource (5.2%), Bitstop (4.9%), and Bytefederal (2.8%).
Coinatmradar.com also tallies the speed of installed crypto machines over time. The web portal, which specializes in crypto ATM statistics, indicates that speeds are recorded by gauge scale “calculated based on the last 60 days, (while) speeds are calculated based on the last 7 days.”
On Sunday, August 7, 2022, the gauge says14.7 crypto ATMsper day at the current rate. That means that in roughly 67.27 days, the number of crypto ATMs installed worldwide at that rate should reach 40K.
