The dispute between global crypto exchange Binance and Indian crypto exchange Wazirx has deepened.Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) tweeted on Friday, “I am not sure if Binance has acquired Wazirx. advised anyone with funds in Wazirx to transfer them to Binance. He warned.” We can disable Wazirx wallets on a technical level.”

The dispute between Binance and Wazirx stems from the Indian Enforcement Directorate (ED) freezing Wazirx’s bank assets as part of a money laundering investigation

After the ED’s announcement, Binance’s CEO quickly denied that his company had acquired Wazirx – almost three years after both exchanges announced the deal.

Zhao claimed that the Wazirx acquisition was “never completed,” but Wazirx founder Nischal Shetty disagreed, insisting that his exchange was in fact acquired by Binance.

Binance vs. Wazirx. who owns what

Trying to prove that Binance owns Wazirx, Shetty claims that Binance owns Wazirx’s domain name, has root access to its Amazon AWS web hosting server, has all crypto assets, and receives all crypto profits Tweeted.

However, CZ claimed that.” Wazirx’s founding team retained control of the platform’s operations. We (Binance) were never given any data or control over users, KYC, etc.” In response to Shetty’s tweet that Binance owns Wazirx, Zhao emphasized that.

We do not control the trading system. You just gave us an AWS login, you have no source code or deployment capabilities. You also retained access to your AWS account, source code, deployments, etc.

In a follow-up tweet, CZ claimed that Wazirx was uncooperative with Binance, adding that the exchange also appeared to be uncooperative with ED.

Regarding the ED investigation, Shetty tweeted that Zanmai Labs, which owns Wazirx, “has been cooperating with ED for over 7 days and has submitted all necessary data.” Wazirx also tweeted.

We have been fully cooperating with the Executive Board (ED) for several days and have answered all their questions fully and transparently. We disagree with the allegations in the ED’s press release. We are considering how to respond to them in the future.
