Bastion becomes Web 3.0 social platform

Tor network integration into the Bastyon desktop application
Desktop applications do not rely on a centralized DNS server or Web 2.0 domain, but instead connect directly to nodes. This setup has already reduced reliance on centralized services such as DNS. And now there is yet another layer of direct integration of the Tor network into the app. This integration greatly improves user privacy (Bastyon already does not require a phone number) and at the same time improves resiliency: the Bastyon app can use the Tor network; it is worth noting that privacy is central to Bastyon even without Tor, since Bastyon registration does not require a cell phone number or other identity authentication. However, the addition of a Tor connection ensures that even if many nodes in the network track a user’s IP address (which is difficult to pull off as it is), Tor’s onion routing will break the link between the user and that IP address.
On-chain promotion of content by PKOIN
Additionally, the Bastyon Core team has just implemented a feature that allows users to promote their posts using an internal token, PKOIN. This is the first in a series of enhancements that will add utility to PKOIN. As many crypto projects are finding, utility is at the core of the value of any cryptocurrency. With a significant growth to 400,000 registered users, the PKOIN content promotion provides another organic use for PocketCoin.
The Bastyon Core team is working on a decentralized advertising marketplace that will allow bloggers to become independent of the legacy financial system and the centralized power structure of Web 2.0.
