OpiPets: The Rise of Blockchain in Formula 1

Press Releases

Press Releases Formula One is one of the greatest sports in the world, with the best car teams competing for the title every year. From the racing tracks at Spa to the roads of Monte Carlo in Monaco, Formula One has grown into a billion-dollar industry, with teams and drivers enjoying a cult-like following around the world.

In recent years, the relationship between Formula One and the blockchain industry has deepened. The growing adoption of crypto and blockchain technology is partly to blame; Crypto.com was announced as a global partner of Formula One in 2021 to great acclaim. They are not alone; Binance, FTX, Velas, Bybit, Tezos, and memecoin project Floki have established partnerships within F1.

The closeness between Forum La1 and blockchain companies demonstrates the accelerating consumer adoption of blockchain and crypto-related products and services. Where once there was Shell, Hewlett Packard, and Coke, cryptocurrency exchanges, Harware wallets, and blockchain protocols are now paving the way.The success of new concepts like NFT, limited edition cards that provide exclusive content and access to fans worldwide collections, has also inspired Formula 1 teams to increase consumer engagement through collections.

Opis Group and OpiPet attended the NFT and Swim Week conferences in Monaco during the Grand Prix weekend; one of the oldest and most prestigious dates on the F1 calendar, Monaco became a hub for blockchain-related activities.

OpiPets, the Free Play-to-Earn project and its sister companyOpis Cloud showcased its use cases and product developments along with other successful projects and technology investors.

building an innovative P2E ecosystem

Play-to-Earn attracted over 1 million users in its first two years due to its promise to reward players with crypto and NFT ownership, but still faces an uphill climb in terms of broader mainstream adoption.

Startup costs for new players are a major barrier to widespread adoption of P2E gaming. Participants must spend up to $1,000 to get started. Many cannot afford to test it and often view it as a risky investment. Many players are still frustrated when trying to recoup their initial investment.

Contrary to the original idea, many so-called P2E games are moving to Pay-to-Earn. This is due to unsustainable tokenism that always leads to the abandonment of the original ideal.

OpiPets is one of the few projects that stands apart from the prevailing model. It is a free P2E online game where players are rewarded with cryptocurrency and the ability to create, fight, acquire, and trade their own NFT OpiPet characters.

OpiPets uses the P2E concept and focuses on giving the community real ownership of the assets produced and a new way to earn income with the digital economy.

Further development is expected

The OpiPetsteam is working tirelessly to significantly reduce the barriers to adoption that limit the popularity of blockchain gaming. We also plan to launch the game in the third quarter of 2022. The game is expected to include exciting features and products that will allow users to explore its ecosystem and acquire new assets.
